Lincoln Xmas Market

Took an extra day off from work early December to head over to the annual 4-Day Lincoln X'mas Market.

And since it's only a yearly 4-day event, the crowd was huge and crazy!

And all these people were just walking toward where the X'mas Market at. Siao!

And there were lots of street performances...

The Christmas Market was HUGE! Too many stalls, too crowded but so little food and drinks stalls? Huge disappointment as I was saving my tummy for them =[

PS. By the end of the day, we ended up having McD for a "short break" and went straight back to Manchester for dinner.

Nevertheless, I still managed to try few food items. For the first time =]

Manchester Xmas Market

Christmas is coming soon! I don't really celebrate Xmas but I do hope this year would be a better one because it was pretty miserable a year ago =[

At Albert Square again, the Manchester Xmas Market is held- with the same kind of stalls and similar decoration (the huge Santa Claus right below the tower clock). There's only a slight different this year with the 'MCR❤XMAS' below the Santa- inspired after the riot that happened last August.

The visit was short- rushed to AMC thereafter to watch 'Justice' and let's not forget the weather has become unbearable =[ *ihatecoldverymuch*

We tried Pretzel with Nutella. Despite the lady trying to heat it up for us, by the time we took picture with it, it has become cold and less tasty =[

And finally, I've tried on Mull Wine! I like it because it's served warm! Taste ok also lah hahahahha

MSc Graduation

It's been more than five months that I've not been blogging and the only time I actually recalled of its existence was when I received an email to renew my soon-to-be-expire domain. Even then, I ignored it and then finally, it expired!!!

Obviously, it has been renewed now =] and I'm back with this outdated short post of my graduation from last July.

Also, I love my dress which I bought from Warehouse after 60% + 10% reduction. I think I paid like £16 for it only. Major bargain ok!

Thanks Li-Lynn for the graduation present WHICH I RECEIVED THE YEAR BEFORE LOL! Back then, it was the graduation year for Dionn, Angela and Jonathan (yeah, I'm the cacat-ed one apparently). So she assumed I'm graduating at the same time and hence, the cow plushie. I told her I'll make use of the plushie when I'm finally graduating! Thank god I did =]

My mom, on the other hand, was funny because she went, "Ah girl, go study Ph.D larh so that your dad can come next time to attend the graduation ceremony".

Amsterdam

Hisashiburi! Have been busy working and damn it I'm procrastinating even after being completely done with my study- now with job hunting. I've sent out four applications so far (don't belittle these 4 applications wtf)- two didn't bother to reply (or yet) while the other two (sigh), rejected! Ishx wtf I should have tried harder but writing CV was hard enough that whenever a cover letter is required, I'll procrastinate, sorry! And my 6 days/week + long hour waitress job is really killing me! And seriously speaking, I'm still emotionally unstable that I couldn't be more motivated to be serious with my fking life -.-

Spring 2011

So few days after my birthday, few of us took an Easter trip to Amsterdam. The trip was pre-planned for five of us, and then it became seven and finally, it has settled to a firm six of us. Fuh~

Initially, Li-lynn was supposed to fly with us but she was so sick that she couldn't make it so mo ban fat lo. We were there for 4 days and 3 nights.

We arrived late at night, checked in at Shelter City and off we go to nearby Red Light District; looking for dinner. I think it's close to midnight that most restaurants were closed or not appealing to our hungry tummies. We ended up at Febo; and bought food from its vending machine (so fking chio right?)

Our hostel offers free breakfast every morning so we woke up early and ~~tried very hard but fail most of the time to~~ leave asap to our planned destination :)

24-hour I amsterdam pass for Day 2 (€39)

Although I can't cycle (and I'm not even sure if I'm the only one who can't cycle among us all wtf), getting around Amsterdam is still easy with its tram and buses (although it can be quite confusing because the tram line is massive that you might somehow find it hard to figure out where to take specific tram, which stop you should get down, etc, etc)

Seriously lorr.. this trip is kinda the one with the least photos although we did cover most of the major attractions. All the museums that we've visited forbid photography (except the sex museum -.-) so no choice loh... look see look see only.

We were pretty enthusiastic at first at the Van Gogh Museum but then, there were so many paintings ~~and someone was tired/noisy/rushing us~~ that we finally decided to quickly view the sunflowers painting by Van Gogh and leave.

PS. Whatever we did/ Wherever we went also tak cukup masa/ got some people not happy.

So susah lahhhh......

Must-do #2: Canal tour

The ride brought us around Amsterdam within 11/4 hours (it's pretty long actually) and you'll see (I meant pass by too) houseboats, NEMO (science centre), a huge Chinese restaurant that kinda floats nearby the port, something to do with 8 bridges thingy but I forgot what it was -.- , and that's.about.it. As half an hour passed, everyone slept/ attempted to sleep except me ok (fking semangat hahahaha)

Sherene is a hardcore fan of Starbucks and Hard Rock so whenever she travels, she'll get a mug from Starbucks and something from Hard Rock (is it a mug as well?) as souvenirs!

Thank god we rushed there because we were the last batch in the factory and we were pretty quick to cover everything because the staffs were always chasing us (politely) to the next section =)

As for souvenir? We customised our own bottle of Heineken with our names on it and I regretted not putting 'Amsterdam 2011' on it -.- And oops, gomene, I forgot to snap cum edit a photo of it -.-

Oh fyi, the one-day "I amsterdam" pass includes entry to various museums and other attractions. We've used it to cover Rijkmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and free ride on canal boat. If we weren't using the pass, we would have to pay more than the cost of the pass for the three attractions that we've gone to, so I'll suggest that you get one too and depends on what you'd like to see, decide if you want a 24hr, 48hr, or 72 hours pass :) And using the same pass, we get 15% discount on the entrance ticket to the Heineken Experience.

PS. Okay people.... I'm very sleepy now and it's 5.01a.m. so I'm going to quickly cover the rest of this post so I can sleep and go to work energetically tomorrow (I mean later wtf)

To be honest, the sex museum in Amsterdam is not worth visiting and I was pretty disappointed. I remembered reading someone's blog where in certain sex museum (which definitely is not the one in Amsterdam zzzzzz), there's like fake boobies, penises etc, etc that you can touch/ feel/ etc (err, not like I'm a pervert but yeah, so that's kinda my expectation from a sex museum).

On the inside, there's lots of photos of people having sex, showing off their private parts, bondage, SM, etc only. Mostly photos loh and if you have something known as the Internet, you'd probably want to save your time from going to the sex museum kthx.

Must-do #3: Albert Cuyp Market

This place is a MUST-GO in Amsterdam although not many travel pages have covered it. There weren't many tourists here as compared to other attractions so it's definitely a local-people thing. Price of food here is fair and there're all kind of local delicacies here (we bought/ate so many food here -.-)

After the trip to market, we went to Anne Frank house (must-do #4) and again, no photo policy inside. If you're planning ahead for the trip, please make sure you pre-booked the entrance ticket as the queue to the house is extremely long. We were there in the morning but the queue is crazy so we left for sex museum, etc etc and later only with Anne Frank house. Although it's late in the evening, we queued for at least 45 minutes and it's worth the visit to see how her family lived in hiding when the Nazis were persecuting the Jews.

At night, we're supposed to head to the Ice Bar but we're running out of time and missed it :(

It's sickening to to be told that I'm entering my mid 20s last April and Chris (the one who reminded me of this): please not forget you're only a year behind to joining the mid 20s club kthx!

Another birthday, another celebration to go through. I wasn't in a particular mood to celebrate my birthday this year for a you-know-what reason but good friends wouldn't let it passed easily, right? So I kind of ended with three different ones =)

*coughcough* This was the expensive dinner that I've briefly mentioned in my previous post. It's just the three of us (aka flatmates now wtf)- Angela, Jon and I.

There were supposed to be two more of us at the dinner but Laura and Parco didn't make it so it was just five of us. It's a simple dinner and I really appreciate Angela, Sherene, Cheryl and Jin for making it happened or else my birthday would have been just like any other day. Thank you for making it special =)

Oh in total, I have three cakes for my 24th birthday. #1 at Birmingham while in the park, #2 at San Carlo where Jon "unintentionally" told the waiters that it's my birthday and they were all singing the birthday song to me a minute after together and LOUDLY (thanks Jon for the embarassment -____-)

By the end of the dinner, we had all gone home and when I'm done changing to my *shy* ultraman pyjamas, Angela and Sherene surprised me with a birthday present!

Seriously loh, both of you should have some kind of tactics up your sleeves to make sure I didn't change into pj mah. I was so paiseh wei! Hahahaha

Then, I was forced to open the present in front of them when I knew what it was already. Angela was trying hard to tell me things like "you'll never know until you'd open it" yadda yadda......

23 10 Remarkable 'About Me' when I was 23 (before I turned 24)

Hello all. Yes, it's my birthday today. Happy birthday to myself and yes, I turn twen-ty-four this year, which is a bad thing for every single girl! Boohoo.

Am I enjoying my birthday? Yes, I think so :) I don't know because it's a mix feeling of everything.. to be a year older, to be away from my family and BFF in Malaysia, etc etc.

Well, the day is still a long way and I'll be heading out for another dinner later with some of my friends (and cucus). I've had one yesterday with Angela and Jon and it was fantastic regardless of the price we paid for our food (£109++) T_T. So while waiting for the night to come, I'd like to compile the list of things that happened to whilst I was 23!

*PS. It's supposed to be 23 things but I don't have that many exciting things to share. I can force myself to make up 23 things by breaking the subcategories but don't want lah.. I need time to get ready for the dinner :)

1. Bought My First Phone Ever!

I'm serious about this. All my previous phones were first-owned by my mom or shared with my sister. My Panasonic VS6 (Endorsed by Jay Chou) was a gift from my big brother for babysitting Ryann for almost 6-months. So I practically don't have to fork out my own money to buy a cellphone since I don't follow trend to get the latest model, etc (no money T_T).

iPhone is something I wished to have and seeing everyone else checking in here and there AND/OR always busy with their iPhone/BB while hanging out makes me feel like I've been out-grouped (jealous -.-). And with my salary from waitressing, I signed up a 24-month contract to own a iPhone! Yippee!

2. Completed My Master

I think this is the greatest achievement I'd have achieved in my life. I'm graduating with Merit in MSc Marketing Communications; don't know how or why I managed to do it, but I did it :)

My experience was pretty fair. I don't really enjoy it and I'd rather watch a match from home. Blame my weak eyes! When I'm wearing contacts, I can't see far distance for a long time and it'll only make my eyes very tired. Plus, I didn't know there's no commentator on the match. You'd have to pay 100% attention or you'd never know a team has a goal until the crowd shouted. (When you watch at home, the commentator would make you anticipate a possible goal with their tone right?)

5. K-Pop Virus! (like seriously -.-)

I know this is lame but I've always been a J-popper until end of last year! Dionn brought the virus to me (thanks) and I can't stop anymore!

Breathe in, breath out!

Everyone! This is my #1 favourite, SHINee! I love the blondie, Taemin and he's six-year younger than me (FML I know) He's the best dancer in the band and hell he's good! I love Jonghyun as well (who's also younger than me by 3-year) because of his strong and powerful vocal. I can't really decide who I prefer the most but yeah, they are the reason I fell for boy band again.

Hao Wern likes them too and he kind of know all their songs + dance moves (in a baby way though; charming!). So thanks to Dionn, Hao Wern, Ryann and much to their show, SHINee Hello Baby; I'm a shawol now :)

Then, there's Super Junior! I think I knew them first before SHINee but SHINee wins my heart the most <3 Probably because SHINee has 5 members and I can name all of them while SUJU... 13 members? I like three tracks from them- Sorry sorry, No other and Bonamana. I can listen to all SHINee tracks without feeling bored but I can't do the same for SUJU. And believe me K-pop can be pretty complicated. SUJU can be broken into subgroups for new releases, etc *headache*

And I've just found out from Dionn that SM Town will be performing in Paris on June 10th. HOW? SHINee, SUJU and Girls' Generation will be there!!!

OMG! G-Dragon is so hot hot hot! He's the leader of the band and he write/compose songs for the band! He's unique in his style and damn he's fking good! I also like Seungri for his mesmerizing eyes and T.O.P for his very unique rap! Daesung and Taeyang's vocals are nais too (Addicted to Daesung's Baby Don't Cry right now)! And oops, I think I can name all of them wei! Hahahaha. Please check out their latest 'Big Bang Special Edition' album because it's freaking good!

6. 3 Shows, 2 Concerts!

Mianhe. I think I'll no longer blog about SS3 individually because all I have from that night was mostly videos as I only have my iPhone; no camera :( (unless you want to see the videos!).

Briefly, Dionn bought our tickets from her friend (which explained why the above tic showed it's complimentary and it only costs RM0.00 when actually, we each pay RM486.00 for the show. Wah, very expensive to me actually because I am not a huge fan of them and I'm regretting... :(

I kind of regretted going to SS3 because I don't think I actually like them deep enough to attend their concert. I mean, I only know very few of their songs and hence, most of the time I'm just plain bored with what they are singing (plus, I don't understand Korean). At other time, I was busy helping Dionn to take photos/videos of her Kyu-Hyun whenever he came nearby. And there's so many of them and I basically only know Kyu-Hyun and Ryeo Wok (whom I thought I like but when I saw him, there's no spark) before attending the concert.

Still, from the concert, I manage to get a closer look at Korean hotties through SUJU and I started to know them one by one because Dionn was (very busy) educating me, "This one is Heechul", "That is Eun Hyuk and the other one is Yesung", etc etc. I think after the concert, I like Henry lah hahahaha.

And I am really impressed by the unity of ELF and wah, the whole stadium was in BLUE ok!

There were different projects by SUJU's fans as well (like when to sing birthday song *their representatives were distributing flyers to concert-goers okay). So I did gain something lah from the concert :)

7. Peekaboom! Accident :(

So it's been more than 1.5 years since I've last drove a car. When I was back in Malaysia, I was pretty nervous to drive because I'm not sure how much I still know about driving :( So when I had to drive the car for the first time without supervision from more-experience passenger (ie. Dionn, papa/mama), a.c.c.i.d.e.n.t happened. Seriously FML and it's not even my car; it's my brother's :(

8. Worst Drink, Drank & Unconsciously Drunk Situation!

This is very embarrassing but I reckon I should blog it out since it's something that everyone should experience at least once in their life (I hope mine would be just that one!). It's pretty bad and ever since that day, I have champagne phobia =.=

The night was pretty ordinary like every other night but I drank few shots and champagne.. and I felt asleep. When I was awake, I can't no longer stood on my own and I need 4 other girls to walk me out of the club. I felt unconscious and I fell like gazillion times on the floor. At that time, Jon tried to saddleback carry me but I fell off the ground few times too because I can no longer support myself. Boohoo :( Worst? Taxi drivers refused to give me a ride as I could vomit in their cabs. Thank god in the end, I got a ride from a friend and safely arrived home (and sleep with my make up/ lenses/ dress on).

The morning after was even worst; bruises everywhere, a really bad hangover and I had to work that day (seriously fml). I felt bad for Li-lynn and Angela (and possibly the other girls) who helped me out because they ended up with bruises too (I stepped on them with my heels unconsciously, sorry). Fingers crossed, it will never ever happen again :)

9. Two ~~self-proclaimed~~ Chio Haircuts

#2 is my latest hairstyle now! It's supposed to be punk; shaved on the right side but my hairdresser told me not to so ta-da! That's how it looks right now and I quite like it :) But haih~, short hair is very hard to maintain and need to be trim/groom all the time. Getting a haircut in UK is not cheap T_T

10. In Love.. and Out of Love
After being together for around 5 years and 4 months, we're calling it off. Jon and I are no longer couple, so there you have it. It's been more than three months since we'd separated and yet, many still think we're together. Sorry, I couldn't just bring out the topic out of nowhere if we had previously been in a conversation. I couldn't go, "Oh did you know Jon & I are no longer together?" kind of thing.

I'm still in the recovery period and I think I'm getting better :) And perhaps, I should really enjoy being single for now...

So that's all the 10 things to summarize my year of being 23. Hopefully being 24 will be filled with lots of happy & joyful moments, a steady job, getting what I deserved to get ie. get taller wtf, healthier life..... All good things should ~~and must~~ happen to me this year please kthxbai!

Home(Sick) Sweet Home Pt.2

Boohoo. My trip back home has come to an end and I'm so depressed right now because I want to be home longer. Couldn't help but to wonder how nice it'd be to turn back time *daydreaming* And writing this post doesn't makes me feel any better (it made it worst actually wtf -.-)

So here is a summary of my trip back to tanah airku:

My arrival at KLIA was greeted with enthusiasm by my adorable nephew, Ryann! He took the initiative to make the special placard for me that night and he's so proud of it!

And indeed, once I arrived at the arrival hall, he's the first one I saw! Proudly flagging the placard and once he noticed me, he ran to me and gave me a big hug! Wah, my heart melts right away okay. Aiyo, he's grown so big now and know so much about everything.

Food heaven

I think I've not mentioned this before but I'm a big fan of flight meals :)

Which explains why I hardly sleep during flights because I'm afraid I'll missed any of the meals -.-

And then the real food heaven:

Sorry peeps but too many food and yet there's not enough pictures to capture all of them (too hungry, irresistible, whatever-excuse-you-can-think-of). And photos don't always do justice to all the fantastic food! My first meal was sate kajang, I had steamboat thrice, ate my favourite pan mee at Face2Face x2, been to pasar malam x2 and had char pey ge (fried radish cake?), ban jing kuey (appam?), popiah, etc. Then, there's also family trip to Melaka (durian cendol, nyonya meal) and Lumut (seafood).

I've noticed that there's lot of dessert shops around now and I've had my first-try on Snowflake & KTZ tong sui. Sorry for my jakunness! I think I've covered most of my local food temptation except char kuey teow with duck egg from Penang :(

Both of them have been strictly Korean-ised by Dionn and damn they are good with singing and dancing to K-pop tunes (Lucifer, Oh!, Gee, Bonamana, Sorry sorry, etc).

I missed Haowern going "Devonn kor kor, shen me shi ren (什么是人)?". If you answered it wrongly, he'd say "No ah...it's people!".

And both of them can be pretty mischievous. Haowern likes to complain the smallest thing about his brother. Ryann on the other hand, put the blame on Haowern! T_T

Jay Chou The Era Concert in Malaysia 2011

Hello all. I've been sick for about three weeks. Started off coughing and when it started to get better, I get caught with both flu and cough... and...and I've only been back for seven weeks so you can pretty much sum up my condition whilst I'm home.

Previously I've mentioned one of the ~~main~~ reason that I'm home this time around is to catch Jay Chou in concert with my fellow myJAYsians. Although I ended up spending about £300 (that's weeks' salary of waitress-ing) for his two-night concert, I've no regret because it's all worthy!

Well, not exactly for both night. On the first night, I was seated on VVIP, Row 1, Seat 109.

While the seat indicates a "wowing" Row 1; my view at the first row wasn't as spectacular as I was expecting it to be. The stage was a T-shape and I was at the left edge of the last stroke of the letter. At where I'm seated, I can only see the stage (nothing but blackness) which is at least 8 feet tall.

So the only time I can see Jay clearly was when he came to the front of the T-shape stage and the probability of him coming over that night was like only 40% (I know, FML).

Being his fan for almost ten years (and still counting) and attended all his previous concerts in Malaysia, I'll have to admit that I've become a smarter fan; as in knowing when to run to the front of the stage and catch a better view of him! Poor guards for their continuous shooing to get us back to our seats.

At one point, when we (the fans) were totally banned from standing at the front by the guards, Jay was like, "Where's my fans? It's unlikely for my shows to not have fans standing in front here to cheer me up. I want my fans here right now" (roughly translated). That's the point where all of us got crazy and ran to the front. The guards lost control of us and we basically won lah hahaha.

At one of those crazy moment, a girl who stood nearby was actually err...crying over Jay. As fanatic as I can be, I have never cry over Jay lorh and seeing her like this just make me feel guilty, as if I've neglected Jay for a long time. Maybe I have neglected him 'a little' since Jay has been busy with other things in life that doesn't involve making more good music. He has been hosting, filming, directing... and it seems making music is on the last of the list which is pretty sad since his music is what makes me his fan for so long.

Jay has been neglecting singing that he needs such a huge LED board to get his lyrics right. With this, he had had less interaction with fans as his eyes were always kept looking at the board than looking at us shouting madly for him -_-

Second night at the rock zone was the best for me (& myJAYsian)! I can see him closely and clearly. When Jay came down from the stage twice to shake hands with the fans, so many other hands from the back were grabbing my hands and everything seems messy (and lost) and in conclusion, I'm not quite sure if Jay actually touched my hand. FML!

And with the best view of him for the night, my camera wasn't charged even when it's supposed to! FML x2!! After the first night, I actually put the battery to charge the whole night but later at the second night of the show, I found out from Dionn that that cable wasn't always working properly. Cham right? :(

So I have no choice but to pretend that I want to enjoy the show without photographing him. I've captured over 200 photos of him on the first night when my view was basically sucks and when I finally get the chance for some really good shots at the rock zone, I only get like 90 shots before the battery completely died! Most of the nice photos that you see here are probably photos from day two.

That pretty sums up the two-night concert. I have great nights with myJAYsian and myJAYsian: 8 of the light-sticks used on the first night were missing. Whoever took it, please surrender them or prepare to erm... I cant think right now :p

Home Sweet Home Pt.1

Hello again,

It's been a while and I've travelled some thousand miles to a place no other than home (fuh, like finally!) The run-down: 1) Cancelled my flight on 31st Jan as my visa/passport has yet to return. 2) Spent my Chinese New Year at Manchester when I'm supposed to be back home with my family. 3) Got my passport/visa on 5th Feb but I'll still have to wait for my biometric ID to arrive 4) Got my ID on the 9th. 5) Flew home on the 11th. 6) Because I was so desperate to be home, I've to go through 10-fking-hour transit at Dubai before I 7) Reach KLIA on the 12th!!!!!

By the time I've got back, the whole Chinese New Year mood was over and everywhere and everyone were talking about the upcoming Valentine's Day pfft!

Still, if you read my previous post, I was in the midst of preparing for a massive dinner to celebrate Chinese New Year in Manchester and the dinner went well, just like one I'd have had back at home :)

Now that I'm back home *insert evil laugh*, life has been pretty much more interesting cum fattening! And oops, I'm busy now that I must stop blogging right away! Hahaha!

Happy Chinese New Year in advanced everyone. Hope you're having (or will have) a great time with your family and in my case, with friends. I'm supposed to be home back in Malaysia but I have not got back my visa/passport from UK Border Agency yet. Flight was cancelled and all I can do right now is just wait for my passport to arrive at the mailbox :)

Spending another Chinese New Year in UK is not that bad. My flatmates and neighbours and non-neighbour friends are planning a massive dinner tonight with the main star:

I'm 14 days late to wish Merry X'mas and 7 days late to say Happy New Year but gomen.. I've been very busy all these while and blogging seems to be the last thing I'll want to do. So cham.... :( but I'll try to squeeze as much as possible in this post.

For 2009's Christmas, I was in Paris with my family and we had missed the Christmas Market in Manchester. So for ~~this year~~ 2010, I'm eager (cum desperate) to make it to the Christmas Market despite my tight working schedule. And guess what? I've made it there THRICE! :D

Each of the mug is £2 and I'm so happy that I managed to get hold of the 2009 one (despite missing it two years ago). The white one has now becomes my-everyday-mug :)

The market ends December 22nd. Then, it's CHRISTMAS.

I was working on X'mas Eve. After work, there's dinner with all my colleagues and I'm lucky to draw a rice cooker! :)

On X'mas Day, my neighbours/friends and us had a pot-luck dinner at their place.

Hello and it's been ages!!

Gomen. I'm extremely busy for the past month that I don't even have much time for myself. Working hard now but shit, I've not completed my CV (procrastinating again, what else -.-) and I don't have time any more to look for a proper job. Sigh....

Speaking of job, I've got a job now for more than a month- waitress. Believe me, I wasn't good at it at all. I can't even handle a bloody tray at first -_________- but I've somehow managed now. And guess what? I'm officially turning full time today until end of January. And what's there for me in February?

Okay, I've just realised that I'm running out of topic when I'm supposed to be talking about Halloween. Haih...sad case larh.

So few weeks ago, it was Halloween and it was a bad halloween. Dahlah I bought my costume, make-up (with fake lashes sumore) & paid for VIP ticket BUT the event was overcrowded because the organizer oversold the tickets (obviously) and due to unforeseen circumstances; only Angela, Li-Lynn and I managed to enter the club while Jon and friends were all denied access. So we ended up leaving the club without having fun and headed for a house party. End of story & end of my Halloween. Boohoo...

Didn't manage to camwhore as much as I want to and I don't even have a picture of myself in full-length with the costume. When the hell am I going to wear the costume again T_T

It's been more than a month since I've last updated my blog. Sorry as I have been busy, wondering around, procrastinating and doing every other things except blogging. So this is what keeps me away from blogging:

It has been (finally) submitted last two Friday (September 17th). It's been more than a week and here I am: still the same old me: I have yet to work out my CV and look for jobs. I guess today (maybe tomorrow) marks the day I'll finally do what I must do -.-

Pit Stop #4: London

It's my second trip to London. If you ever recalled (which I doubt so), I've forgotten to blog about my first London trip, that happened last winter. Hahaha. I'll skip it for now until I have no more other material to blog. And hey, how about this coming winter?

We didn't do much in London since it's our second one. We visited the Stonehenge and yeah, like the picture above, it's just a pile of stones to me larh.

There's really nothing else for us to do THAT we even visited Legolands -.-

We were very excited about it. I thought it would be on the same par as Disneyland but nah... it was a real disappointment :(

While Disneyland entertains both adults and kids, Legoland is only for children (like seriously). Everything fits kids below 12 and if you are above 13, this place is boring for you.

Only little kids are surrounding Bob for photos. Dionn and I were so embarassed to get him to photograph wit us :(

Apart from visiting Stonehenge and Legoland, we didn't do much else, except shopping. The only thing that really makes my trip to London worthy is this:

Authentic Malaysian Prawn Mee

This is the best prawn mee that one could get in UK. It's so delicious and it tasted closest to the Malaysia ones. It's a must have in London. Remember that!

Dion ordered Curry Mee and it's superb too.

The place is called Hare and Tortoise and there are few branches in London.

I'll try to update more from now on, I hope =)

Summer Trip

Pit Stop #3: Milan

Hello readers! Just to say that I'll be extremely busy until September 17. That's the date for my submission of my dissertation. I hate to admit it but yeah I'm not doing so good at the moment. I have three weeks left and it seems there isn't enough time for every single thing. FML. Right after that date, I'll have fun like nobody business ;)

Seriously, among all the places I've visited, Milan is the one with the least photos. The city is much modern compared to the rest and well like the title said, it's all about shopping so there isn't much to sightsee anyway :p

Depart from Madrid to Milan with Ryanair. Arrived early evening, supposed to check in at Hotel Diablo BUT when we arrived there, there was no room for us. Apparently previous occupiers lost their passports the night before while partying so they had to extend their stay. The hotel booked us into another hotel and after another half an hour walking (He told us it only took 10 minutes! Big fat liar!), we finally arrived:

It's more expensive than the one we intended to stay but it was covered. However, there's no free breakfast nor wifi, as offered by the previous one. Somehow, don't know how or why, Dionn and I managed to access their internet though! So freaking happy :) ~~Facebook>Pet Society / Restaurant City...~~

Dinner for the day : Aperitivo (Happy Hour)

Aperitivo is highly recommended to anyone who's heading to Milan. Happened between 7-9pm in local pubs and bars, one has to pay for their drink (cocktails, beers, etc) and get to eat for free! It's not just only a dish or two. It's ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET!!! We ate a lot of dishes and their desserts were good too!

Day 2 in Milan was a 1/3 sightseeing, 1/3 locating places and 1/3 shopping. We did not take turistic bus here because it was expensive and most places are quite close to each other. So we walked, stopped and walk.... Here were some of the places that we've been to:

I regretted not buying anything in Milan. I only bought special edition Coke bottles for Jon. Mom and Dionn bought heels that has the 'Made in Milan'. T_T I should have buy a pair!!!!

PS. I still prefer Barcelona/Madrid over Milan :) Things are too expensive for me in Milan, but in Spain... IT'S DIFFERENT!

Summer Trip

Pit Stop #2: Madrid

So here is a quick update of my trip to Madrid, pit stop #2. I've forgotten to mention that we travelled from Barcelona to Madrid via ALSA coach, departing midnight and arrived early morning. Voila! Save a night from staying in hotel.

However, we arrived way too early and we weren't allowed to check in until after 4 hours or so. So we went breakfast at McDonalds and wondered around Gran Via and omg the area is one hell of a shopping area!

Summer Trip 2010

Pit Stop #1: Barcelona

So my summer trip has finally ended. Before I go on babbling about how much I'm left behind from doing dissertation, I'll pretend that I'm a carefree person with nothing in my mind except reminiscing my summer trip. Lalalalala~

Depart for Barcelona on 17 July 2010. Arrived in Girona, took a bus to Barcelona city centre and by then, it's evening, which means no sightseeing but hey, there's food =)

We ate at a place at place called LIDO which is near to where we've stayed. It was introduced by the receptionist of the hostel and food was great and price was okay too. We even ordered Sangria which is a typical wine punch in Spain and I LOVE IT.

Single Day: 22 Euros, 2-Day: 29 Euros

Our trip has been made easy when we've decided to go sightseeing with the turistic bus. Mom has hurt her leg before she came over so we have to minimise our walking. It was all worth it as it stopped at all tourist attractions...

Both Casa Mila and Casa Batlio are the works of Gaudi who are very into waves. It's surprising to me that both Casa are just around random shops and buildings. The next stop was also the works of Gaudi (he's like the Ronaldo of Spain- even my mom felt for him and talked about Gaudi throughout the trip -.- ):

Weather was very and extremely hot. I've never been this hot since I'm in UK and totally forgotten how hot Malaysia has been. Thanks Spain for 'reminding' me wtf.

Sightseeing on Sunday seems not to be such a good idea. Everywhere we went, it's packed with people and even the stadium was closed early T_T. We could only snapped photo from one of the gate.

I 'WAS' very excited about it. My image of bull fighting is just the bullfighter; swinging around the red cloth around the bull and avoid being hit by the bull.

IT'S MORE THAN THAT.

The bull will be killed and throughout the almost 2 hours show, 5 or 6 bulls were killed.

It was killed with spear and dragged away by horses.

I'm not trying to be sentimental and all but killing innocent bull just like this is not right. Imagine for this show, 6 bulls were killed. The show runs every Sunday and let's not just forget this is not the only place to catch a bull fight show. Nevertheless, this will be the one and only bullfight show I'll have ever watched.

That covers most of my Barcelona trip. The only thing that spoilt my mood was my broken contact lense. It was new and broken when I opened it from its seal. So for the first day of the trip, I only have one proper eye sight, which is very hard because so much energy has to be placed on it to see things clearly. My fault for giving up my specs (It's a trip and I don't want to be nerdy okay!)

Attended his convocation last Thursday at Bridgewater Hall.
His family was here. Mine (my mom + sis) was there too to celebrate with him!

Earlier today (Friday)(woke up at 4am), we went to Newcastle to attend my sister's. Photos are with Jon and he had went off to travel with his family to Scotland =(

All their hard works for the past 9 months had finally paid off. It's funny how I'm not graduating yet because most of my friends and including my sis had graduated. Even though I'm finishing this coming September, my ceremony will not be held soon. Apparently I've to wait till next July? Lol. AND Jon's cousin thought I'm graduating too and bought a gift for me *thanks Li-Lynn*! So I've got my one-year earlier graduation present! Teehee!

Off to bed now. I'm off for my summer trip with my mom and sister in less than 6 hours!!! *VERY EXCITED* *nods*

A New Place Called Home

It's been a week since I've moved out from student accommodation. I've spent too much money for my new home but nevertheless, I'm really loving it here =) Here are photos of my flat (and yes, just photos):

From here, you can see that the living room is connected to the kitchen. This is perhaps the one thing I don't like about this house. When cooking, all the smokes and smells from cooking spread all around. It'll be perfect if there's a sliding door or something to separate these two =)

So now I’ve moved out from my hall. From packing stuffs to boxes, to uploading them to new place and downloading them from new place to install appropriately… OMG MOVING OUT IS VERY TROUBLESOME! And I don’t want to do it anymore anytime soon.

Imagine also checking letting sites every single day and calling them all the time to book a viewing appointment. Some of the agency can be f**king annoying because

They don’t call you back that appointment has been cancelled as the place has been taken and wtf I only found out when I’ve reached that house;
They don’t call you to arrange for an appointment even when they say they will;
Most of them made me REALLY PISSED because of their British accent and they can’t understand me even if I speak very clear English *bang my head on the wall*
They waste a lot of my phone credit
I called an agent before to tell them that after viewing, I like the place and would like to rent it. They took my details and never call me back when the place was taken. F**K’em!

Phew! Now that everything had settled down, I’m so relieved. Body ache + muscle cramp at the moment. The only disadvantage is that there isn’t internet connection now that I’ve typed this post via Microsoft Words and now borrowing a connection of a friend to publish. So cham right?

I don’t have photos for my new house yet so for this post, I’ll reminiscence my ‘home’ for the past ten months: Cambridge Hall of Residence

Descriptions:

1. I stayed in North court

2. I’m in D block

3. I’m on the highest floor- 3^rd floor WITHOUT lift kthx (lots of exercise here okay)

4. Lots of Malaysians are staying here

5. Lots of naughty, mischievous, idiot, brainless ‘angmohs’

Okay. This need explanation so here is the breakdown:

a. My flat’s doorbell sounds like fire alarm which sucks. These people rang them a lot for non stop in the midnight (3am or so). HELLO? We need sleep okay!
b. Once, the hall way of the 3^rd floor was very noisy so Jon went to peep from the door to find that one ‘siao kia’ peeing at our door! I cannot tahan wei!
c. Once in a while (probably once in a month), they broke the glasses on the door to every floor. Don’t know what’s so fun about this -.-
d. They are like beggars that like to ask for cigarettes from you.
e. They party and drink like nobody business (actually this is not a problem to me if they do no harm but when they party, they get drunk and it leads to point a, b and c.

6. While I’ve requested to stay with international students, my flatmates changed from time to time as they were here for a short term. My flat is for 5 people only and towards the end of my stay, I’ve had 2 Austrians, 1 Canadian and 2 Chinese from China flatmates.

7. Certain flatmates can be very frustrating and they can made me (very) angry -.- :

a. The girl left red stain (you know what it is) and even her pee on the toilet seat
b. The boy do not aim properly too and leave stain too -.-
c. (very disgusting) The boy did not flush properly after releasing something big and did not even take the initiative to brush it off
d. When defrosting a chicken, they left it on the table, without any plate below it and the blood just flow freely to the drawer, under the microwave….and recently they did not close the freezer properly so the blood flows out from the freezer and all over the floor
e. They again did not wipe the dining table after use, leaving cooking area very wet or just leave leftovers on the washing basin.

I felt pissed mentioning them and thank god I only have to bear with them for ten months. Nevertheless, I am quite happy with my stay in Cambridge Hall larh.

DAY TWO

All set and ready for another day of discovery!

So on the second day, we planned for a day trip to Florence, famous for Michaelangelo and more churches/heritage/buildings....

What we need for a boost in the morning was nevertheless:

It's true because toilet can be very expensive here. Imagine per entrance is €1 (which is close to RM5).

Trip to Pisa

Hello! My blog has been pretty dead for quite sometime. Imagine this is only my second post for May and uh, today is the 31st!

So last week, I was on holiday at Pisa, Italy. It was a three days two night trip. Six of us travelled together and we are:

Yen Ling, Dionn, ME, Jon, Angela, Joyce

Yen Ling is Jon's classmate and we hang around quite pretty much- we made prawn mee together before (which I would blog soon *I hope*). Angela is Jon's cousin and at the same time, she and Joyce are my sister classmates since in TAR College and they are in Newcastle (Northumbria Uni) to study Degree together. Fuh.... what a long explanation to clarify the relationship -__-

The three of them travelled from Newcastle to Leeds and Jon, Yenling and I traveled from Manchester to Leeds. Well, we were flying with Ryanair and we paid £27.30 for a return ticket. Cheap right? Dionn and I supposed to plan for Prague too but the price went up so soon T_T

Hahahaha! If you would have noticed, I CUT MY HAIR. Fringe this time. Despite many arguments whether to have a fringe or not, I go on with that fringe! £23 okay! So expensive! But it was my first hair cut in UK after EIGHT months! My hair was so ugly before this cut okay -_- I'm lovin' it!

We arrived in Leeds train station at about 2a.m. Our flight was 9a.m. T_T We hung out in the station (okay, I was sleeping most of the time because I had sore throat and headache). After breakfast, we took bus 757 to airport; checked-in and FLY!

After about 2 hour 45 minutes of flight, we arrived in Pisa! =)

We stayed at a B&B called Gate 52, it's very near to the airport and going to city is walking distance only. Room is comfortable, nice and cool too. Highly recommended =) After some sleep, it's time for adventure!

Thank you for loving and taking care of me all this while, and let's hope we have many more years ahead. I know you are kind of at the state of can't-bear-with-me-anymore since I'm so old-fashion in many ways. Something is definitely wrong with me :(

Hi people! Sorry that I've left my blog on hiatus for almost a month. Busy with assignments and many other things. Plus, my life isn't as interesting as all other people out there so yeah, you can stop reading after this one if you want to.

Next week is going to be a great week for me. Meeting with my sister and together, 5 of us (include Jon, Angela and Joyce) will head to PISA =) Ok, now at least it sounds like I'm going to have something to blog about.

I'm off to bed soon. Meeting my supervisor tomorrow to work on my dissertation. My mind has literally give up dissertation =( It's the one thing that I'm always demotivated to do and thinking of it makes me regret taking this master course -.- I suck and I'm weak =(

Anyway, before I go, yesterday it was my pet's birthday:

Easter the Eastern Way!

Few weeks back during the Easter break, I went to town and like an insane woman, I bought 2 boxes with 15 eggs in each of it. Yes, I'm going to use all of it at once ;)

I'm using all of them to cook:

HERBAL EGGS!

Okay. Don't expect me to know how to read all the Chinese words, I'm a half-ripe banana.

So what you need are these:

- pre-packed herbal eggs ingredients (like the one I was holding)

- rock sugar (get it in Chinatown)

- eggs (15 eggs will be enough for a packet. I have 2 and hence 30 eggs)

- a huge pot to boil all the eggs

- patience (because it has to be simmered for at least 3 hours T_T )

With all patience, here it is:

Jon and I got the whole pot to Jin's house to share with everyone and we had lots of fun that night =)

When everyone has their eggs, we went down to ride on BICYCLE (as if I know how to ride ><)

I envied the fun of riding a bike!

It's kind of embarrassing that I'm the only one who do not know how to ride a bicycle. I've learnt it before, with the mini wheels at the back (four-wheel bicycles) when I was very young. AND I've learnt on two wheels before, but it was a child bike so it was small AND PLEASE TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION MY HEIGHT THANKS!

We did many silly things which we filmed rather than captured in photos and I don't think all of them want to be seen in the video here. It's really funny and omg we are all legal adults but still acting like children... Haha

If you wonder where I were in this photo, can you see an extra hand right below Jon's arm? Haha. I fell T_T And the hand was not mine either. It was YenLing's and I was right below here T_T (Double slam?)

Turning Two-Three

(oh it's belated now)

So now I've turned 23 and 4 days to be exact...and I've been non-stop grumbling about how old I am getting but my friends would just go you don't look old at all which is a relief. So sometimes, when strangers/new people guess that I'm a high-schooler, I can't help but to be on cloud nine *daydreaming...*

So my birthday wasn't a great one to start. The day before, I was so frustrated with preparing for exam and still doing so when it's finally 19th. I ended up sleeping only at about 5.30am and forced myself to wake up at 9a m: still not done with exam preparation and headed to *coughcough* library to continue...

Then, there's the exam from 1.30pm till 4.30pm. I think oldness contributes to tired right-hand when writing in exam. Urgh, I can't feel my hand!!!

Day 1

Bonjour!

Manchester to London

If you guys were aware, there has been a serious service disruption by Eurostar, the only train service to Paris from London last December. Their trains broke down due to the heavy snow and their schedule has been cancelled/ postponed. Well, we were travelling all the way to London just to try our luck anyway....

The glass building is St. Pancras International Train Station. We queued for more than half an hour to get into the building alone. Thank god there's volunteers giving out free food, including mince pie (my first time trying and they are yummy) and drinks. It was really cold and Jon wasn't with us and we had so many luggages to carry around. And oh, the queue didn't just end when we managed into the building. It continues for another hour until we reach Eurostar counter and fuh....thank god we managed to hop into one of their train *wink*

Arrival in Paris was a sour one. We tried to get on the taxi, with the address our landlord supplied. We rent an apartment in St. Maur and the place was really cool, with no picture though. So when he saw the address, he couldn't figure out where it is, and attempted to remove our luggages which he has already loaded into his taxi. He's a bit dishonest and I'm pretty pissed with him.

While we figured out the proper address- me calling the landlord, yadda yadda.... the taxi meter was still running. Taxi is so expensive. We did try to figure out our way by using train but then, the lady in customer service counter speaks French and only French.

When we finally figured things out and reach our apartment, the lady in charged guided us through our apartment in French, even when we told her that we couldn't understand at all. I've got to say that French is very ethnocentric :)

Day 2

With the bad experiences, we went on with our free and easy tour. As the day goes on, we think we did great- with intensive understanding of the maps and train routes. Travelling around was a piece of cake then ;)

First stop: Hotel de Ville

A very cool random man with kid offered us help when we wanted to get to Notre Dame de Paris by train and he told us to stop at Hotel de Ville and walked across the river for better view and all. He's right. The hotel was in our itinerary anyway....

Haha. I am too small to be the focus point.

Then, we crossed the river... (ok, now I am acting a bit lame to explain every single detail...)

The good thing about Paris is that there's no snow there (I'm in the anti-snow list now btw). The bad news: we weren't having good luck and when we were leaving Notre Dame, it was raining.......

I think the only regret we really had was not visiting the Museum. It was pretty late and the ticket was pretty expensive for all four of us. So it's a waste because according to someone, it takes one whole day to see everything...... it was later that we found out that students might enter for free. Boohooooo

Sister's 21st Birthday

So Dionn celebrated her 21st birthday early March. It was supposed to be a surprise (by her friends) but for 'some unexplainable circumstances', she knew something was on. Hint: Angela wanted to text her friend that she could not get candles for Dionn's cake and oops, the message was sent to her instead. Hahahaha

She was still somehow surprised. Her friends managed to manipulate her to think that only 2 of them are coming over to celebrate her birthday at 12am sharp but instead, there were like 10 of them?

There are lot of photos taken with her friends but I'll leave it to herself to post her big day :)

To extend her celebration, we went dinner together at La Tasca and with seven girls and one boy, we ordered about 80 over tapas....and the waiter told us that nobody in the restaurant had ordered that much before. Are we good or what? (Kiasu)

'Paiseh' for this dragged cum outdated trip to Manchester post. Wait a sec! This doesn't sound right as I'm already in Manchester so it shouldn't be trip 'to' Manchester but trip 'around' Manchester -.- Talking about living in Manchester, I'm surviving pretty well right now and OMG: 6 months are how long I've been here. And horh, if it wasn't this trip to/around Manchester, I wouldn't have so much to say about Manchester.

Just a quick recap: My mom and bro were here to visit my sister and I so our itinerary was Newcastle (without me) > Edinburgh> Manchester> Paris> London. So from the itenerary, you can see that I have NOT talk about Paris and London yet. I'll try to get through it by next week (I'm not promising because I'll break it anyway. If you have been following, I've mentioned that I WILL BLOG ABOUT in several occasions but I did not so yeah...FML)

When we were there in the afternoon and heading somewhere else, which I can't remember where anymore. When we returned there on the next day, at night, the whole thing was over. Damn suey.

Oh when my family here, the snow was pretty heavy which was not a good news. We planned to go to Old Trafford Stadium early but the weather did not permit it...

We went for both the stadium tour and museum and since Jon is working there, we managed to get staff price for our tix. Instead of the normal £10 plus entrance tix, we paid £4.25 for each ticket only :) Super duper dai!
